What is the difference between a chiropodist and a podiatrist? Technically there is no difference. It is just that historically the profession who had a diploma in disorders of the foot was called a chiropodist. 

As the profession progressed, education was extended to include training to degree level. We then started calling ourselves podiatrists. 

Most people are unaware of the different treatments we are qualified to provide.  

Chiropodist and Podiatrists Treat

- Fungal infections, Callus Build up, Ingrowing Toe Nails, Verruca, Corn Removal  

What is less known is that Podiatrists are experts at treating 

- Foot pain 

- Bone injury 

- Fractures and Sprains 

- Tendon / Ligament problems 

- Bunions 

- Heel pain 

- overuse injuries and running injuries
